Teaching is a profession that scaffolds children’s mental and spiritual education and maturity, and to help them acquire knowledge in a meaningful way. This job puts me in the frontline and gives me the opportunity to positively nurture and guide the next generation to their full potential. To start we must envision the future and what kind of characteristics we would like to see our children possess, then we work backwards. “It takes a village to bring up a child”, this means the household and the whole school has to work positively towards the same target, with the same enthusiasm and at the same speed in order to achieve the goals. “Train a child the way he should go and when he is old, he will not turn away from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
I was blessed by having Dr. Angela Luk as my mentor in my teaching career and she influenced me to treasure my students as children of my own, and to nurture them to develop to their full potential as God would. We are only managers for God, each child is special and unique in their own way. With prayer, passion and reflection, we aim to bring out the best in each child for the benefit of society.
Effective and joyful teaching can only be realized when we work hand in hand with God: “Is there anything too hard for God?” (Genesis 18:14) “God is near to all who call on Him.” (Psalms 145:18) Teaching with passion for the children and their families, is the only way to be joyful teachers.
