Hello everyone. My name is Teacher Paul. I have lived in Hong Kong for over 10 years and have spent my childhood coming here on holiday! I am from a small town in East Yorkshire (England) called Beverley, but I am happy to call Hong Kong my home.
As a parent and educator, it is my belief that all children should be cared for and nurtured throughout their educational journey. With an emphasis on personal growth, my goal is to encourage good moral values within each student, and to help them become better people as well as to help them achieve their full academic potential. Education is not a “one size fits all” approach, and I believe that teaching needs to help facilitate discovery and curiosity in each child so that they may grow to be the best versions of themselves and discover their true character and purpose in life.
I also believe that there is no greater power on earth than the power of human connection and it is through our interactions with others that we can truly see the world and change it too. Our children are our future, and it is important in this ever-evolving world that we stay rooted to the principles that got us here in the first place. The ability to connect and form lifelong relationships.
In my classroom, making sure that our students feel safe and free to express who they are, and to be the truest version of themselves is highly important. The classroom is a two-way street. The student’s ability to think critically for themselves and to put that into practice also helps me grow and learn as a teacher too. Our learning journey never ends, and this is something I look to instil in my students and continue in my role as an educator.
